I'm one of the .00001% of DDR players that don't use mods. -If you'd like me to elaborate on something, or if you'd like to comment on my judgings, do not be afraid to PM me on Bemanistyle (Zounder) or IM me on AIM (SF Zounder). -All charts within each file were played and scored in the following order: Light, Standard, Heavy, Challenge (if applicable). I don't mean I played every light chart, then every standard chart, etc. I graded each file completely before continuing on, but this was the order in which I scored each step section. -When I first judged for DDROSC3 and 3+, I gave rather generous scores. In OSC4, my scores dipped down tremendously. In OSC5 Bracket 1, I ranked second of the four judges in highest average. We'll see what happens with Bracket 2! -Credit goes to Juub and the_ditz for my scoring system. Every positive comment will have a "+" before it. These comments are good things about the file. Every negative comment will have a "-" before it. These comments explain points lost, and provide constructive criticism. A neutral, silly, or random comment will have a "|" before it. These comments mean nothing at all towards the grade. -If I missed something you said in your readme that explains something I criticize, my apologies. Here is how I will be scoring, with some comments: ~~SCORING METHOD~~ Song /15 -Quality /2 | If the song is fuzzy or muted, enjoyment is lowered, and points will be taken off. -Creativity /4 | Any song from a bemani/rhythm based game will have one point removed from this score. Why? Because if the song was already used in a rhythm game, using it for DDR isn't really a creative choice, is it? And it's only one point, so don't go ballistic on me. | Sorry if I get the name of the rhythm game wrong | If the song is generic techno/J-pop/trance, or really any kind of generic genre featured over and over again in DDR. expect points to be deducted. -Edit /4 | There will be two subcategories for this section: Cut and length, each worth two points. The song should be somewhere near the 1:00-2:00 range, but there's a change that a song could be 1:50 and I may find it to be too long of a cut if it's repetitive or boring. Cut focuses on how the song begins and ends, and what parts of the song are included in the cut. -Appropriate /5 | When I hear the song, I should be thinking to myself, "Wow, this would be great on a DDR arcade machine." Songs that are DDR Appropriate have a heavy drum/bass beat in the background, and the songs are usually lively and upbeat. If the song is repetitive, good, varied steps can make up for it, but if the steps are bad, boring, or the same thing over and over, I may notice the repetitiveness. Graphics /15 -Banner /7 --Author and song title /3 --Aesthetic appeal /3 --Proper size/format /1 -Background /8 --Song title /3 --Aesthetic Appeal /4 --Proper size/format /1 | I'm not too much of a stickler on graphics, but the text should be easy to read, and the graphics should fit the song. | If it's blatantly evident you cropped the background to make the banner, or found an image on the internet and added text, I will take one point off, because it shows a small lack of effort. -Basic /15 --Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty /3 --Fun /12 -Standard /20 --Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty /3 --Fun /17 -Heavy /25 --Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty /3 --Fun /22 | Let me clarify a few terms I use: "Flow" -If a chart has good flow, it doesn't have many double steps. Bad flow means many double steps. "Double steps" -Using the same foot to hit two or more consecutive unique arrows. Example: The pattern UDLRUDLRUDLR does not contain any double steps, assuming the left foot begins on the up arrow and the right foot begins on the down arrow. However, URLDURLDURLD has double steps because a player must turn away from the screen in order to alternate arrows. Double steps are generally bad things when used in 8th note streams (like End of the Century), but are usually ok when used in 4th notes. "Step-jump patterns" -a single arrow and a jump consectuively in an 8th note stream. I really don't like the use of this unless the song calls for it. Also, some step-jump patterns like a left arrow followed by a left-right jump are fine, since the first arrow and the jump share an arrow in common (the left), but seeing step-jump patterns like up arrows followed by a left-right jump too often really annoys me. Don't get me wrong, this works in many songs, but seeing it too often in places it shouldn't be is bad. "Unecessary freezes" -A freeze arrow that is so small that if I were to press it and let go of it immediately, it would still register. If that happens, then it doesn't need to be there, hence, unecessary. It's very unprofessional and has virtually no purpose. | I used the "Bug-free" section to comment on BPM changes and such, which I figuered was appropriate. Even if it is the improper place to do so, I would have just taken off/added points to the "fun" section anyway, so your scores would not change either way. Tilt /10 | For the purpose of simplicity I have combined the /3 and /7 into /10, but I still commented on both categories. I take many things into consideration for this: Overall quality of the stepcharts is probably the most important, which means that if you have three solid charts you will do better here. I also take into consideration the overall presentation of the file, meaning graphics, extras, and other things that polish the simfile. And of course, a little personal tilt is thrown in there, since it's called tilt, after all. For example, if one major flaw brought the simfile's score down by a lot, I may give a rather high tilt if I really enjoyed everything else. Also, I may bump it up a point or two if I really really liked the song. Take note that these are very small additions, though. Basically, the tilt score will be in direct relation to how much I enjoyed the simfile as a whole. Let's begin! ~~All In The Way- Sarina Paris~~ ~~~~~Song 10/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 1/4 - Really generic techno choice Edit 3/4 - Could it have been possible to cut out the silent part at the end? There's nothing really to step to there, since there's no beat at all + Good length Appropriate 4/5 + Danceable + Good beat - Has a quiet, relaxed feel to it, though + But still a very appropriate choice ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - The text is kind of blurry and doesn't stand out too much + Nice colors that are very appropriate for the song Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + I like the way the text flows with the background + Nice effects - The text is a bit small though Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 9/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/7 + Good flow + Fun, simple patterns used, appropriate for light + Same goes for rhythm - During the quiet, no-beat part at the end, though, it seems the arrows really follow nothing at all + But a great light chart overall ~~~~~Standard 13/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/11 + Good flow + Really fun patterns used, and you managed to keep them varied nicely + The rhythm you followed was perfect for a standard chart + I liked the section where you followed the upbeat - Once again, though, the ending just didn't feel right at all, though this time you followed the vocals + Nicely done overall ~~~~~Heavy 17/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 14/15 + Good flow + Same old story... great patterns throughout, same goes for rhythm + 8th notes on the upbeat section worked nicely again + Really liked the rhythms in the synth sections - And once again, the ending felt awkward for the same reasons stated before + Still, excellent job overall! ~~~~~Challenge 14/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 11/15 + Good flow + Once again, great patterns and rhythm - Those 16ths didn't really follow anything in the music, and weren' really necessary - Once again, the ending steps bugged me + Still a solid chart overall ~~~~~Tilt 7/10~~~~~ + Professionally done + Amazing steps - I can't really get into the file too much for some reason, it just felt a bit boring overall, not something I'd play too often in the future + But I can't argue against the overall quality of the simfile, well done! ~~~~~TOTAL 82/100~~~~~ ~~Bouncin!- H-Corps~~ ~~~~~Song 8/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 2/4 + Has somewhat of a unique feel - But it's still generic techno Edit 3/4 - Way too long + Good cut otherwise Appropriate 3/5 - Extremely repetitive + Danceable + Good beat ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 + Really cool effects + Text is decent... - BUt it doesn't really stand out much Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 - Text is still a bit blurry + But the effects are very nice Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 11/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 8/12 + Good flow + Great patterns used - Some of the rhythms you followed seemed a bit awkward for light, but it wasn't too bad - Quite a few jumps here. Most worked, but sometimes they seemed in excess + Light use of 8ths was fine + Solid chart overall ~~~~~Standard 16/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 13/17 + Good flow + Patterns were for the ost part varied, which must have been dificult given the song - But it was repetitive in some places + 8th note run complexity kept to a minimum - Many unecessary freezes + Another solid chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 19/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 16/22 + Decent flow, but not as good as the previous charts, some double steps - Numerous unecessary freezes, check my definition in my comments at the top of this page if you don't know what they are and the hazards of using them - Patterns were very repetitive this time, especially the use of the step-jump 8th note patterns during the first half of the song + Aside from those step-jump patterns I just mentioned, the other step-jump aptterns (the 4th note ones) were nice + I liked the use of 16ths + And the freeze section during the soft part of the song worked very well + Pretty solid overall ~~~~~Tilt 6/10~~~~~ + Awesome song - But the length really got in the way of the enjoyment - Some flaws in the charts did as well, doesn't really make me want to play it again + But there are definitely some redeeming qualities about the simfile ~~~~~TOTAL 73/100~~~~~ ~~Dancin' In My Dreams- J. Storm~~ ~~~~~Song 12/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 1/4 - At least one initial D song in every mix, it seems - Generic eurobeat | Dark Luke is actually stepping something mainstream??? Edit 4/4 + Good length + Good cut Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Full of energy, translates excellently to DDR ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Text stands out and looks nice + Initial D car is appropriate + Nicely done Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Text is nice + Shot of Initial D character is fitting - But she looks like she is about to vomit! Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 13/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - I think this is a bit too easy to be 4 feet, not enough stream or jumps Fun 11/12 + Good flow + Stream and patterns used appropriate for light - During the verse, there a few moments where I had trouble finding the rhythm you were following, sometimes it seemed like you randomly broke up the stream + Only a minor nitpick though, great chart overall ~~~~~Standard 20/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 17/17 + Good flow + 16th usage was moderate and fit well + Excellent use of 8th note streams + I really liked what you did with the chorus as a whole, a mix of everything that works well on a standard chart, jumps, small 8th note streams, etc. + Fun, varied patterns + Really nothing at all to nitpick, very well done! ~~~~~Heavy 23/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 20/22 + Good Flow + 16th note rhythms are well done, they have a Flash in the Night feel much like Dream of You + The rhythm you followed throughout the whole song was amazing, every arrow felt perfectly placed as to flow brilliantly with the song + Fun, varied patterns used + I liked almost all of the step-jump 8th note patterns,,, - ...Except for some during the chorus that were really close together, it felt unecessarily difficult and awkward + Still, this chart is excellent overall! ~~~~~Tilt 9/10~~~~~ + Awesome video + Light, standard, and heavy are all well done + Professional look overall, definitely something I'd play again + You should go mainstream more often! =D ~~~~~TOTAL 91/100~~~~~ ~~Do You Know (I Go Crazy)- Angel City~~ ~~~~~Song 11/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 2/4 - Nothing really stands out to me as creative here + But it isn't blatantly generic dance Edit 3/4 - The opening is so quiet... + Otherwise fine Appropriate 4/5 - The quiet opening doesn't fit DDR well + Good beat + Danceable + Solid choice overall ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 + Text is nice - But it's hard to read since it contrasts the rest of the image so much + Simple but effective overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 6/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 2/4 - Text is pixellated - Image seems very rough-looking + Not too bad but could have been polished a bit more Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 8/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 5/7 + Good flow + Good use of freezes - During the quiet section at the beginning, the jumps didn't really feel right since the music was so quiet + The patterns you used were fun and appropriate for light - Some of the rhythms during the verse seemed a bit awkward + But the chart is solid overall ~~~~~Standard 9/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/11 + Good flow + Liked the freezes during the chorus - but the rest of the freezes seemed excessive - You copied and pasted the first chorus steps for the second chorus, then mirrored them for the third chorus, which shows no creativity and lack of effort - Some of your patterns were very boring, like some during the verse + You followed a good rhythm + Solid chart except for the copying and pasting ~~~~~Heavy 10/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - Double steps make this 8 feet Fun 8/15 - You lost your good flow, quite a few double steps + Isolated, the patterns you used were very fun - But you combined simple patterns with complex patterns and it didn't mold well at all... It went from simple 4th patterns to complex 8th note runs, and it didn't feel right - The jumps during the quiet section still didn't feel right + You followed a nice mix of rhythm and vocals throughout - Quite a few flaws here ~~~~~Challenge 7/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 4/15 - Double steps quite frequently - Most of the 16ths either followed nothing in the music, or were too long and very awkward - There were very long and boring 8th note streams that didn't fit with the music well + The chorus was nice except for the 16ths - The freezes at the start didn't fit at all - I don't know why you had so many patterns involving arrows on the upbeat, it didn't seem to fir the song ~~~~~Tilt 5/10~~~~~ + Light and standard are enjoyable - Can't say the same for heavy and challenge - Nothing really enjoyable enough to make me want to play this again, but it does have some strong points ~~~~~TOTAL 62/100~~~~~ ~~Fuku Wa Uchi- Domino~~ ~~~~~Song 14/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 3/4 + Unique feel overall - Synth rhythm sounds a bit generic though Edit 4/4 + Good cut + Good length Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Fun to listen to + Great choice overall ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Text looks great, stands out nicely + Well done overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + Text is nice + Effects are nice also + Well done overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 14/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 11/12 + Good flow + Nice rhythms followed, appropriate for light + Fun patterns, also appropriate for light - My only nitpick is that I think the arrows began too early; the beat hadn't really started yet and t felt awkward + Nicely done overall ~~~~~Standard 17/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 14/17 + GOod flow + Loved the freeze-step patterns in the synth rhythms - But the jumps got a bit excessive in those rhythms sometimes + Great use of simple 8th note runs throughout - Arrows began a bit too early to my liking again + Still a great chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 22/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 19/22 + Good flow + First time through the synth was awesome - The second time you changed up the rhythm a bit, which was fine, but some of the 16ths, while logically placed, seemed just a bit awkward compared to the first time through, but I'm glad you did change the rhythm for the second synth run + Fun paterns and rhythms throughout the rest of the chart, especially the chorus - Arrows began too early for my liking again + Very solid chart overall ~~~~~Tilt 8/10~~~~~ + Really catchy song + Professionally done + All three charts are enjoyable + Simply a solid, all around simfile, nicely done, definitely something I'd play again ~~~~~TOTAL 90/100~~~~~ ~~Gasolina (Delaction Remix)- Danny Ray~~ | I will be scrutinizing this a bit more since two people made it ~~~~~Song 13/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 3/4 + All kinds of rhythms mashed into one song, very unique - Some of the rhythms are a bit generic (like the last synth rhythm) + But overall this has a very creative feel to it Edit 3/4 - Just a tad on the long side + Good cut Appropriate 5/5 + Fun to listen to + Great beat + Danceable + All kinds of rhythms to follow ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 + Color there is appropriate + Text is decent - But the fact that the color of the text is so similar to the rest of the image doesn't let it stand out too well + Still, image is solid Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title /3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Same story as the banner... nice effects, text looks cool - Text could stand out better of the color was slightly altered though + Nicely done overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 12/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 9/12 + Good flow - Pivots everywhere, kind of awkward on light, because light players will double step those. A few are ok, but too many makes the player double step too much, and we can't have our light players doing that, can we? + Excellent rhythms followed, appropriate for light + Great use of freezes + Solid chart overall ~~~~~Standard 19/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 16/17 + Good flow + Fun patterns used, appropriate for standard + great rhythm followed - Some of the 8th note runs seemed a bit overly simplified (lik during the beginning of the "ho" part) + Still, great chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 19/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 16/22 + Good flow + A tale of three charts here... the first section, until the middle of the slowdown, was great. Use of 16ths was awesome, 8th note step-jump patterns worked perfectly, great rhythm followed. - Then came the 16th triplets following the synth. This was very awkward to do over and over and over again for quite a few measures. Then when the song got back up to speed you start following the vocals very closely, too closely in fact. It was very awkward to all of a sudden be stepping exactly to vocals, which were syncopated in such a manner that following them would be pretty awkward. So I think it would have been best to have stuck with 8th note runs there. + Then the end of the song was great, with the chorus and the synth section having great steps. + So the chart has it's good places and bad palces, but it's still solid overall ~~~~~Tilt 7/10~~~~~ + Really cool song, kept me interested + Well-rounded stepcharts | I would expect as much from two people, which is why the tilt isn't an 8 or a 9 + Great simfile overall, definitely something I'd play again, nicely done, both of you! ~~~~~TOTAL 83/100~~~~~ ~~High School Love- DJ YOSHITAKA feat. DWP~~ ~~~~~Song 7/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 1/4 - From Pop'n Music - Nothing creative about this choice really... Edit 1/4 - Way too long of a cut - Near the end it gets all quiet and isn't really danceable, that probably could have been cut out Appropriate 3/5 + Good beat and danceable - Except for that quiet part at the end ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Text looks nice + Pop'n character is fitting + Solid overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 6/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 2/4 + Nice text again - That basketball court is really blurry... Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 9/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/12 + Good flow + Good use of freezes - You followed a really awkward rhythm at times... I couldn't quite figure out what you were following in the music at many points - Your step patterns also change up quite frequently without warning. + 8th note usage is moderate and fitting ~~~~~Standard 15/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 12/17 + Good flow - I found myself facing the left for most of this chart, which was awkward + Good use of freezes + This time, you followed a great rhythm - Those jumps that fall right at the beginning of the chorus, where the music drop out, and you have two consecutive jumps... those were extremely awkward. There's no music there, so there really shouldn't be an arrow there, let alone a jump. ~~~~~Heavy 20/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - 16th run at 180 BPM makes this 9 feet Fun 18/22 + Good flow + Good use of freezes + great rhythm once again - That same problem with the jumps during the quiet parts returns for this chart - The 16ths run seemed unecessary at this BPM + Much better chart than light or standard though ~~~~~Tilt 5/10~~~~~ + Solid heavy chart - Can't really say the same for light or standard though... - And the fact that the song is so long made the steps drag on and on, doesn't make me want to play it again ~~~~~TOTAL 69/100~~~~~ ~~INSPIRATION- ERI~~ ~~~~~Song 13/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 2/4 + Has somewhat of a unique feel, as far as techno goes - But it still has a vibe of generic techno/trance to it Edit 4/4 + Good length + Good cut Appropriate 5/5 + Great beat + Danceable + SSounds like something that would fit right into DDR ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 - Really hard to read the song title + Artist text and rest of image is nice Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + text is easier to read this time + Nicely done overall, very appropriate for the song Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 14/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 11/12 + Good flow + Good use of freezes + Nice patterns used, appropriate for light - The rhythm used during the chorus was a bit awkward + But otherwise a great chart ~~~~~Standard 14/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 11/17 + Good flow + I liked the steps during the synth sections - But the rest were very boring... it was just long 4th note runs with some 8th note runs thrown in at points that didn't really fall with the music all too well. Granted, the song doesn't allow for much variation in the steps, but still, it was pretty repetitive and boring ~~~~~Heavy 23/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 20/22 + Good flow + Loved the step-jump 8th note patterns + Once again, the synth section was awesome - The 16th runs during the chorus seemed a bit awkward... the tail end of each 16th run seemed to follow nothing in the music + That's the only nitpick, very well done overall ~~~~~Tilt 7/10~~~~~ - Lacking in the standard chart... + ...But makes up for it in light and heavy + I really like the song - I couldn't really get into this song too much DDR-wise, which took away from my enjoyment of the file + But it's still a solid simfile overall, something I'd play again from time to time ~~~~~TOTAL 85/100~~~~~ ~~Kickstart My Heart- Motley Crue~~ | This was featured in Talladega Nights =D ~~~~~Song 10/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 3/4 + Not a genre usually seen in DDR - Doesn't really stand out to me as an especially unique Rock song + But creative when it comes to DDR Edit 1/4 - The chorus repeated itself four times in a row, which not only makes the song unecessarily longer, but also more repetitive and boring of a cut Appropriate 4/5 + Good beat + Danceable - Not a genre found in DDR too often + But the high energy of the song makes it a solid choice ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - You cropped the background to get this - text is kind of hard to see, doesn't stand out too well + Nice layout Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Nice effects - Text is a bit hard to read + Nice image overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 7/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 4/7 | Double steps everywhere but they're 1/4th of a measure apart so it's fine + I loved the rhythm you followed, fun and appropriate for light - But the patterns you used were pretty awkward combined with the double steps + Use of freezes was good | Average chart ~~~~~Standard 9/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/11 - Double steps everywhere again, but they start to interfere with 8th note patterns this time which isn't good - The use of jumps at the start sometimes felt unecessary + But I did like when the jumps fell on a heavy beat, and this happens for the rest of the chart + Freezes were fun for the most part - But some of the smaller ones seemed excessive + Once again you followed a great rhythm - But once again your step patterns were awkward and double steppy | Another average chart ~~~~~Heavy 14/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 11/15 + Decent flow but still a few double steps throughout + Once again, excellent rhythm, everything felt perfectly placed with the music - But again the step patterns were awkward, this time because they seemed overly difficult. Those 8th note step-jump patterns were uncalled for 90% of the time, and made the chart awkwardly difficult. + 8th note stream at the end was fun + Use of freezes was fun and appropriate + Better than light and standard for sure overall ~~~~~Challenge 10/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 7/15 - Awful flow, double steps much more prominent here than in heavy - More stream than in heavy, which would have worked had it not increased the double steps + Jump run at the end was cool | Otherwise, this chart was very similar to the heavy chart, so see my heavy comments for comments on thsi chart, the only other things to note are the things I just mentioned. - Not as enjoyable as the heavy chart mostly due to all of the double steps ~~~~~Tilt 6/10~~~~~ + The simfile has some strong points - But it was not enjoyable enough to make me want to play it again + You definitely have potential, just work on eliminating those double steps... I suggest testing your steps on pad next time ~~~~~TOTAL 68/100~~~~~ ~~Little Little Princess- SHRINE 418~~ ~~~~~Song 8/15~~~~~ Quality 1/2 - Sounds a bit muffled Creativity 2/4 - From IIDX + Has a pretty unique feel to it Edit 3/4 - Rather long - Otherwise fine Appropriate 2/5 - Doesn't really have a heavy beat that would fit DDR well - Not really danceable either + Has a bit of a Murmur Twins feel to it though ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - That princess on the left is kind of blurry - And the title text is hard to read, should stand out a bit better - And the background is just pure black, not very exciting... + Artist text is fine though Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 4/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 0/4 - Image is really blurry - And I can't read the text at all... Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 3/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 1/3 - Should be 5 feet because of the 8th note run - BPM doubling to 424 was unecessary Fun 2/12 - Double steps galore, which would be fine on light, except the song is fo fast... Test your work on a pad next time - Most of the patterns are repetitive and boring, especially since most lead to double steps - It seems like you followed a random rhythm for most of the chart. The chorus was alright but other times it seems the arrows were following nothing in the music - That 8th note run was way too difficult for a light chart - Nothing much positive about this chart, really... ~~~~~Standard 6/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 1/3 - Should be 8 feet because of the 16th note run - BPM doubling to 424 was unecessary Fun 5/17 - Double steps galore again, please check your work on a pad next time - Steps were a bit better at following something in the music this time around, but still left me confused many times - You also tended to follow the vocals very strictly during the chorus, which got awkward and boring after awhile - 16th note run was too difficult for standard and unecessary + Better than light, at least... - ...But not by much, sadly ~~~~~Heavy 10/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 7/22 + Your flow improved drastically this time, but there were still a few problem spots - Unecessary freezes - Gallops didn't really follow anything in the music + The rhythms you followed made more sense this time around - But there were still many problem spots where it seemed like it was just random stream - And once again you stuck to the vocals like glue at points in the chart, which was again boring - Overall this chart feels too difficutl for a song without much of a beat... something simpler would have been much better ~~~~~Tilt 0/10~~~~~ - Really nothing enjoyable about this simfile, sadly - A better song choice probably would have helped you a lot, but there are other things to work on too ~~~~~TOTAL 36/100~~~~~ ~~Love Is Eternity (SF Synth Trance Mix)- Sota Fujimori~~ ~~~~~Song 6/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 0/4 - Really generic sounding - Nothing about this choice stands out as creative Edit 2/4 - Too long of a cut - The quiet section near the start should have been cut out Appropriate 2/5 - The quiet section does not fit DDR at all + The rest of the song has a good beat though, and it's danceable - Repetitive though ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 - The background of the image is kind of busy + But it works - Text is sort of hard to read + But it gets the job done Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 - Text is a bit hard to read, it doesn't stand out too well + otherwise nice overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 6/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 3/7 + Good flow, but there were quite a lot of spins - The whole chart seemed uninspired. I couldn't really figure out what rhythm you were following much of the time, and the patterns were pretty boring. - There was one long stream near the start that was exceptionally dull + Still, there's no glaring technical flaws ~~~~~Standard 11/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 8/11 + GOod flow + Patterns are much more fun this time around - I wouldn't have used so much stream during the silent part + Good understanding of the rhythm except for one part: - During the first chorus, your step patterns go 4th 16th 8th 8th 4th, whereas during the second chorus, the last note in that pattern is a 16th later. The first pattern seems awkward at the tail end since the last arrow on the 4th is slightly before the synth + You nailed it during the second chorus though + Solid chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 11/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 8/15 - Double steps every once in awhile were awkward + Step patterns were fun for the most part, I liked the step-jump 8th note patterns - But the patterns got repetitive after awhile - Ther use of 16ths in the first few measures seemed uncalled for, they didn't really follow anything in the music + The major 16th use throughout the song was fitting though - Once again, the stream during the quiet section was a bit much, especially using jumps, just didn't feel right with the song so quiet | Average heavy chart ~~~~~Challenge 12/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 9/15 + Good flow + This is like So Deep on steroids! It was very difficult but for the most part all the 16ths were warranted for a 10 footer - The 16ths during the first few measures, like heavy, seemed forced and didn't follow anything in the music - Also, there aren't many breaks in this chart, which almost makes this harder than charts like FAXX. If there were more breaks, this would be a very fin 10 footer | As it stands, the chart is well put together, but may be a tad too difficult for DDR standards due to the lack of breaks ~~~~~Tilt 6/10~~~~~ - I really couldn't get into the song itself + The charts are for the most part solid - But nothing really caught my interest and I probably would not play it again + The challenge chart is close to being very enjoyable though ~~~~~TOTAL 65/100~~~~~ ~~PARANOIA ~Sky~- NW180~~ ~~~~~Song 9/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 0/4 - Sounds like a generic Paranoia remix to me Edit 2/4 - Too long of a cut + Otherwise fine Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Can't get more DDR-like than this ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title /3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Looks very much like a real Paranoia style banner + Well done overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 6/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 2/4 - The text is really blurry + Paranoia style is appropriate Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 7/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 4/7 + Decent flow, some double steps, but none were in the 8th note streams - The freezes at the start seemed meaningless + The rest worked fine + The rhythm followed was fun + The patterns used were fun too - But the way the patterns transitioned into eachother was kind of awkward - And I think this chart could have been made without such a heavy use of 8th notes | Average chart ~~~~~Standard 10/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 7/11 + Good flow - This chart is so twisty! Way too twisty for standard + You followed a great rhythm, everything felt perfectly placed with the music - The step patterns overall showed promise, but as I said, ended up too twisty for a standard chart and that took away from my enjoyment greatly + Nice use of jumps + Solid chart overall but would have been even better if it was less twisty ~~~~~Heavy 13/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/15 - Double steps in many places, even considering the twistyness of the steps, and I know Paranoia songs in DDR have double steps, I don't care, they still bug me - More twisty steps everywhere, it was more appropriate here than it was on standard but it was still awkward since it happened so much + Good use of jumps + And once again the rhythm followed was fun + Good use of 16ths + Would have liked to have seen less twistiness and double steps but it's pretty solid overall ~~~~~Challenge 13/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/15 | This just felt like an alternate heavy chart, everything I said about heavy applies here ~~~~~Tilt 7/10~~~~~ + Cool videos + Felt much like an official Paranoia song - But the twistiness was really annoying and took enjoyment out of the simfile for me, and it's not something I'd want to play again + Still, it's professioanlyl put together and it's a solid simfile overall ~~~~~TOTAL 72/100~~~~~ ~~Pump Up The Jam- Technotronic~~ ~~~~~Song 6/15~~~~~ Quality 1/2 - Sounds muffled Creativity 1/4 - Generic techno - Nothing really stands out as creative about this choice Edit 2/4 - Waaaay too long + Otherwise fine Appropriate 2/5 - Very repetitive + Danceable - The fact that it's muffled doesn't make it work well for DDR either ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - Image looks rather fuzzy + Text is alright but could look a little more polished Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Text is much more polished here - Image as a whole looks a bit rough + But it's nice overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 7/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 4/12 + Good flow - The patterns are extremely repetitive and boring. You repeat the same things over and over for measures on end, and on top of the repetitivness the patterns aren't that creative at all - I couldn't quite figure out what rhythm you were following for most of this chart... it all seemed randomly placed, for the most part - Not much fun at all, really... ~~~~~Standard 16/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 13/17 + Decent flow but not as good as light + Much better overall here.. patterns make sense, rhythm makes sense, and it's pretty enjoyable - Some of the jump patterns at the end seemed unecessary, this song doesn't scream "jump" to me + But still very solid, well done ~~~~~Heavy 7/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - Should be 9 feet due to all of the awkward 16th rhythms Fun 5/22 - Awful flow, test your work on a pad next time - You followed the vocals way too closely here, you had the right idea in standard - Following the vocals so much led to really awkward steps as a whole - Really nothing to enjoy about this chart, sadly... ~~~~~Tilt 3/10~~~~~ + Nice videos - Light and heavy charts are very subpar, not something I'd play again + Standard is a bright spot | You have the right idea with the standard chart, just try not to follow the vocals so strictly next time! ~~~~~TOTAL 51/100~~~~~ ~~Right Now ~DANCE MAN Remix with The Bandman~- ATOMIC KITTEN~~ ~~~~~Song 11/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 1/4 - You mean this isn't the DDR version? =P Edit 3/4 - The opening was a bit long + Good length overall Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Very DDR worthy overall ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - I definitely cannot read most of that text... it's so small! + The rest of the image is nice though - But it's evident you cropped and resized the background to get it Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + Text is much better this time + Night club image is appropriate + Nicely done overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 15/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 12/12 + Good flow + The simple patterns you chose worked very well + The rhythm you followed is perfect for a two foot light chart + Really nothing to nitpick, nicely done! ~~~~~Standard 18/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 15/17 + Good flow + The rhythm you followed was once again awesome, very enjoyable + You kept the patterns simple, which is good... - ...But there were a few runs where there were two arrows repeated so many times... I'm not talking about the groups of 3 or 5 with only two arrows repeating (LRL, UDUDU, etc.) those are great, but when I see patterns like LR LRL RLRLR one after another (as opposed to something like LR UDU RDRDR) too often it gets very boring when I'm only hitting two arrows for so long + But, as I said, most of the 8th note runs were fun + very solid chart overall, nicely done once again ~~~~~Heavy 17/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 14/22 - Double steps everywhere, which is fine for the 4th notes but then it spills into the 8th note runs, test your work on a pad next time + The rhythms followed are fun - But very similar to the rhythm of standard, would have been nice to see some more involved rhythms - Same goes for the patterns... fun, but very similar to standard, the only difference seems to be the awkward double steps all over the place - Solid chart, but not as fun or creative as light and standard ~~~~~Tilt 6/10~~~~~ + Light and standard are great - Heavy is quite lacking - Not something I'd play again + Decent overall but heavy chart definitely need simprovement ~~~~~TOTAL 80/100~~~~~ ~~Sakura Kaduki- AKITO~~ ~~~~~Song 8/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 2/4 + Has a bit of a unique feel to it - But it sounds like a generic Sakura-type song Edit 3/4 - Too long of a cut + Otherwise fine Appropriate 1/5 + Sound a bit like Sakura - But deson't have a heavy beat - Not really danceable - And it's very repetitive ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - Kind of blurry - And I can't read the artist text to well since it's small + Title text is nice though Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + Nice text + Approrpriate for the song + Nice image overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 10/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - BPM stoppage was unecessary and awkward Fun 8/12 + Good flow - For the first two thirds of the chart it seems you went out of your way to avoid placing a step on the first arrow of any measure... I can't figure out why. Light charts should build around the first and third beats of each measure, and it becomes awkward when there are no steps on the first beat + You did remedy this during the last third of the song though + Patterns used were appropriate for a light chart + Solid overall, just work on the rhythm a bit ~~~~~Standard 10/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - BPM stoppage was unecessary and awkward Fun 8/17 + Decent flow but not as good as light - Unecessary freezes - During the first half of the song you refused to place an arrow on the first beat of many measures again + Some of the smaller 8th note runs were fun - The longer ones seemed a little overly difficult for the song and the difficulty though, but just by a little bit - Overall the freezes were in excess the song warranted a few but not quite that many - chart definitely needs some improvement ~~~~~Heavy 7/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - BPM stoppage was unecessary and awkward Fun 5/22 + Decent flow, about the same as standard - Unecessary freezes - And what was with that much of freezes near the end? Totally uncalled for - The majority of the 16th notes followed nothing at all in the music - Erratic rhythm followed throughout the entire chart + Some of the 8th note runs were fun - Jumps during the quiet sections didn't fit at all, since the song was so quiet - Really not much to enjoy about this chart, sadly ~~~~~Tilt 2/10~~~~~ + Nice BG animations - Not something I'd play again - Not much positive about the simfile as a whole ~~~~~TOTAL 50/100~~~~~ ~~Samba Brazil- Captain Jack~~ ~~~~~Song 13/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 3/4 - Captain Jack isn't too unique of a choice + But the feel of the song is very creative Edit 4/4 + Good length + Good cut Appropriate 4/5 - Extremely repetitive + Good beat + Danceable + Good choice overall ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Nice text, especially the Captain Jack DDR text + Solid overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + Gives the same vibe the song does + Nice image overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 9/10~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/7 + Good flow + I loved the rhythm you followed, it was very enjoyable and fitting for light, and I liked the way the rhythm become slightly more difficult as the song went on + Good use of jumps + I liked the freezes in the chorus - But the rest of the freezes didn't fit well with the music + That's my only nitpick, nicely done overall ~~~~~Standard 10/14~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - 7 feet due to some slightly more complex patterns towards the end of the chart Fun 8/11 + Good flow + Rhythm were very fun and appropriate for standard + 16th usage was fine too - The 8th note triplets at the start got very repetitive since there was no variety + Fun patterns used - At the end, the step-jump 8th note patterns were a bit too difficult and unecessary for standard + Still a very fun chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 13/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 Fun 11/15 + Good flow + The 16th rhythms make up the majority of this chart, and they work nicely overall - There were a few trouble points though. The first is after the firts chorus when the music drops and all you hear is the vocals and the drums, you attempted (at least, it seems you attempted) to follow the drums with 16th, but they should have been 12ths. - The second trouble point was the second chorus, when you made the patterns slightly more difficult (which is good), you made the 16th rhythms a bit more complex and gallops emerged, the problem is that one of the two 16ths that make up each gallop follows nothing prominent in the music, and feels awkward + As for the rest of the chart, rhythms and patterns were fun overall - One thing I didn't like was the verse, it was pretty repetitive, but the repetitive pattern was still fun and appropritate - The step-jump 8th note patterns during the "Samba Brazil" lines and "The rhythm whatever" lines worked nicely, but the step-jump after the "Ay-oh Ay-oh" parts felt awkward and unecessary + Still solid and enjoyable chart overall ~~~~~Challenge 6/18~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 3/15 + Good flow - You went way overbaord with the 16ths. The 16ths at the very start were great, but 90% of the rest of the 16ths followed absolutely nothing at all in the music, especially those very long ones, and were very unpleasant - The jumps were also excessive. There were just too many that did not need ot be there, and they were in such large clumps! - It seems this chart was made only for the sake of a harder difficulty, because this song doesn't lend itself to 10 foot steps. ~~~~~Tilt 8/10~~~~~ - I feel bad because the score is going to get nerfed because of the challenge chart + Solid light, standard, and heavy are redeeming qualities + I would definitely play this file again, enjoyable simfile overall, a shame the score is going to be so low =( ~~~~~TOTAL 74/100~~~~~ ~~Seasons Of Love (Gomi's Lair Club Mix)- RENT~~ ~~~~~Song 14/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 3/4 + From a musical, pretty creative - This remix has a bit of a generic dance feel to it though + Still pretty creative overall Edit 4/4 + Good length + Good cut Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Great choice for DDR ~~~~~Banner 6/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 2/3 - Very hard to read the title text + Artist text is nice though - Rest of image is kind of simple + But effectice Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Nice city image - Text is stil a bit hard to read + But at least it's bigger than it was in the banner so it's a bit easier to read Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 8/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - The last two arrows are green o.O Fun 6/12 + Good flow - The first (pretty sure it was the first) two freeze arrows you used (left and right freezes that lasted over a measure) totally broke up the good rhythm you haf and felt very awkward and meaningless + The rest of the freezes fit the song well and were fun - However, the patterns of three freezes then a single arrow was repeated so many times it got very boring, try changing up your patterns next time - Way too many unecessary 8th notes for a light chart... Sometimes it's unavoidable, but there were many other options that didn't involve 8th notes in this case. + Chart has some good points - But still needs some work ~~~~~Standard 6/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 3/17 + Decent flow but not as good as light - Those groups of 5 freezes did not need to all be freezes - Especially the last one in each of those groups of 5, because it was so small I could let go as soon as I stepped on it ans it would still register, AKA an "Unecessary freeze" - And you kept repeating this pattern over and over and over again, it got very boring - In fact, you repeated many patterns over and over - Those two very long freezes in the mdidle of the song made little sense and disrupted your rhythm just like in light - You followed the vocals way too closely, it made the rhythm very awkward and unpleasant - Really not much to enjoy about this chart, sadly ~~~~~Heavy 7/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - The last two arrows are green again o.O Fun 5/22 - Flow is worse than standard, many 8th note double steps, it really makes the enitr echart awkward, test your work on a pad next time - Unecessary freezes + But I did like most of the freezes during the chorus, except for the unecessary small ones that I explained in standard - You followed the vocals way too closely once again, don;t be afraid to step to the general rhythm of the song next time - Once again, not much to enjoy about this chart ~~~~~Tilt 3/10~~~~~ + Neat song choice + Shows a few strong points - Not really something I'd play again, though - Simfile needs drastic improvement overall ~~~~~TOTAL 51/100~~~~~ ~~Sphere- Tatsh feat. You synched the song in such a way that the beats of the music fall on 8th note arrows and not 4th note arrows. If we label a measure as " 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & ", the 4th note arrows should fall on the 1 2 3 and 4 and the 8th notes should fall on the &s. However, because you synched this file incorrectly, it is the opposite. The reason why this is so bad is because of three reasons: 1. Play light chart on little (only 4th notes are seen) and you'll see what I mean. 2. The colors of 8th notes are different than the colors of 4th notes on certain arrow modes, and that can really mess up the player. And 3. It's obviously very unprofessional. Fun 2/12 + Good flow - Extremely boring and repetitive patterns. The first section is just a bunch of left and right arrows, then you just had blacks of arrows of patterns such as RDUL over and over. It showed no effort or creativity. - The stream seemed a bit too much for light, some of the runs needed breaks - It's easy to tell this chart had little to no effort put into it, and is not enjoyable at all ~~~~~Standard 4/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 0/3 - Blue Arrow Syndrome - The whole first section of this chart is offsync! Fun 4/17 + Good flow - Even less effort put into this chart, the patterns are as boring and repetitive as light - 16th runs too difficult for standard - The beginning of this chart shows more lack of effort, it's clear these arrows are about half a beat late and do not match the music at all, I mentioned this in the bug section above but it also affected the fun factor - Once again, not enjoyable at all ~~~~~Heavy 4/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 1/3 - Blue Arrow Syndrome Fun 3/22 + Decent flow but not as good as standard and light - Those jump runs don't work at all, single arrows would have been fine - On top of that, some of those jumps are off the mark if you were trying to follow the vocals, which you were, and if you weren't then those jumps that are off the mark follow nothing and are even more awkward than the rest of the jumps - Boring patterns once again, but they are a tad better than light and standards - The steps followed the vocals the whole time, which was also boring - The long freezes in the middle of the song broke up the rhythm and were very awkward - It seems you forgot the left arrow exists during the 16th run at the end - Just as terrible as light and standard ~~~~~Tilt 0/10~~~~~ _ I really can't stand this song - Total lack of effort definitely makes me want to never play this again - Sadly, not much enjoyable about this file =( ~~~~~TOTAL 34/100~~~~~ ~~Way of Life- Stylophonic~~ ~~~~~Song 11/15~~~~~ Quality 1/2 - Sounds muffled Creativity 4/4 + Animals rapping, I'd say that's creative Edit 2/4 - Way too long of a cut, many parts could have been cut out - Fine otherwise Appropriate 4/5 - A bit repetitive + Has a Let the Beat Hit 'Em feel + Good beat + Danceable ~~~~~Banner 4/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 0/3 - I can't read the title or the artist - Very poor quality - Plain black background is pretty boring Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 + Much better than the banner, nice effects - I can barely see the text though Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 11/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 8/12 + Good flow + Fun patterns, especially during the chorus - There was one run starting after the leopard-like dude stops rapping and runs through the Panda's verse that is one long stream of arrows without a break, and that was rather awkward. - Some of the other rhythms you followed were a bit streamy too, some more breaks would have been nice given the feel of the song + the rhythm you followed when the Panda was on the stage was really fun + Solid chart overall ~~~~~Standard 13/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/17 + Decent flow but not as good as light + Patterns are appropriate for a standard chart - Some of the patterns got boring after awhile, though there wasn't much you can do since the cut is so long - You followed nothing but the vocals during the choruses, which was boring + You followed a great rhythm otherwise, went right with the song + Chart was enjoyable but still has some pretty big flaws ~~~~~Heavy 10/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 2/3 - Should be 9 feet due to 16th usage and 8th note step-jump patterns Fun 8/22 + Decent flow but not as good as light - Unecessary freezes - This time you followed the vocals way too closely for 90% of this chart. It resulted in awkward 16th patterns and boring step rhythms - I didn't really feel the 16th usage in this chart... the song doesn't lend itself to harder patterns like that - The song doesn't lenditself to all those awkward 8th note step-jump patterns during the chorus either. + On the bright side, despite the fact that 16ths didn't really fit the song, they do have some logic to their placement. - I really would have liked to have seen something more like the standard chart as the heavy chart. This chart has some enjoyable aspects but really needs some work ~~~~~Tilt 4/10~~~~~ + Best video of both DDR brackets, hilarious + Song is catchy - Still, the steps leave something to be desired, and I probably wouldn't play this simfile again unless it was to see the video ~~~~~TOTAL 60/100~~~~~ ~~Wowowee- Willie Revillame featuring Lito Camo~~ ~~~~~Song 15/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 4/4 + Can't get more crreative than this | Where in the world do you get all this crazy music? =P Edit 4/4 + Good cut | Would have liked to have seen it a bit longer but nothing worth taking points off for, better to make it a little short than risking it being too long Appropriate 5/5 + Good beat + Danceable + Fits into DDR nicely ~~~~~Banner 7/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 3/3 + Great text + Nice image overall Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 8/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 4/4 + Text looks nice + The image of the Phillipines strangely fits the song... before reading the readme I actually thought this song had to do with sailing! Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 15/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 12/12 + Good flow + Nice use of freezes + Patterns and rhythm perfect for a light chart + Really nothing to nitpick, nicely done ~~~~~Standard 17/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 14/17 + Good flow + 16th use is moderate and appropriate + Fun patterns used throughout - The groups of three jumps in the chorus seem oddly placed, though I can sort of see where you were going with them, they seem like they need either one more jump or one less jump to make it feel right - The 8th note step-jump patterns bugged me as well, just seemed unecessary on a standard chart + Still a solid chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 23/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 20/22 + Good flow + The two short gallop runs were awesome and fit perfectly with the song - The two longer runs worked at first, but seemed to last just a bit too long, as the arrows eventually stopped reflecting the vocals and it became a bit awkward - You followed the vocals rather closely during the chorus, which worked for the most part, but it got boring after awhile + The rest of the rhythms you followed were very enjoyable + Great patterns used throughout, loved the 8th note step-jump patterns at the end especially + Only a few minor nitpicks, excellent chart overall! ~~~~~Tilt 9/10~~~~~ + Great song choice + Light, stadard and heavy are all strong + One of the most pure fun simfiles in the contest, excellent job! ~~~~~TOTAL 94/100~~~~~ ~~You Give Love a Bad Name- Mandaryna~~ ~~~~~Song 8/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 1/4 - Generic dance - Nothing really creative about the choice Edit 3/4 + Good length - You should have left out the quiet verse though Appropriate 2/5 - The first half of the song is too quiet and doesn't work with DDR at all + But the second half is very appropriate, good beat and danceable ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - The layout doesn't look too appealing to the eyes - text is kind of rough around the edges + but it's still somewhat effective Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 7/8~~~~~ Song title 3/3 Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 - Text doesn't stand out too well + But image is appropriate + Nicely made Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 13/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/12 + Good flow + I'm glad you didn't try to put too many steps during the quiet sections + Fun patterns used - The rhythms you followed during the vocals sections seemed just a bit awkward + A solid chart overall ~~~~~Standard 13/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 10/17 + Good flow + Patterns and rhythms were fine until... - ...That 16th run, which would fit on heavy but on standard that's pushing it. This is a minor nitpick though. - But after the 16ths came the jump run, which was really unecessary and wasn't too fun. It just showed a lack of creativity in the step patterns. + Then the steps get much better, with great rhythms and patterns used. - Then another jump run... + Then the song ends nicely. | So a mix of good and bad here overall ~~~~~Heavy 20/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 17/22 + Good flow - During the quiet verse, the jumps didn't seem to fit the song since it was so quiet - I also wouldn't have used so many steps during the first quiet section after the synth kicks in + Othside of those troublesome quiet sections, the chart was fun, fun patterns and rhythms + The long 8th note stream towards the end seems uncreative and uninspired, but otherwise the non-quiet sections are pretty fun + In conclusion, the chart was enjoyable except for the quiet sections | On a side note, I spent awhile trying to figure out if your 12th notes are accurate, and I came to the conclusion they are, so... nevermind =P ~~~~~Tilt 5/10~~~~~ + Video is nice + I liked the synth sections that worked great with DDR - But I really couldn't get into the first half of each chart because of the song, and due to this the simfile isn't really something I'd pkay again + Step-wise you did very well with what you had to work with given the song - But the cut/choice of the song is what hurt the simfile the most in terms of enjoyment ~~~~~TOTAL 71/100~~~~~ ~~Nagai Yume- YUKI~~ ~~~~~Song 14/15~~~~~ Quality 2/2 Creativity 4/4 + Haven't heard something like this before! Edit 4/4 + Good length + Good cut Appropriate 4/5 + Good beat + Fun to listen to, albeit a bit irritating sometimes when the vocaist hits a really high note + Danceable + Nice choice overall ~~~~~Banner 5/7~~~~~ Author and song title 3/3 Aesthetic appeal 1/3 - Text is hard to read, especially the title - Image looks blurry except for the face, which is fine Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Background 4/8~~~~~ Song title 0/3 - Niether the black bg or the alt bg have the title on it Aesthetic Appeal 3/4 | I'm grading your alt image + Appropriate for the song - No real special effects used + But effective Proper size/format 1/1 ~~~~~Basic 9/15~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 6/12 + Good flow - Steps into fadeout is never a good thing - The verse was very boring, with the same pattern of having arrows on the first and third beats present for most of the section - And the jumps during this section didn't fit with the song at all + Then came the chorus which was much better + Great use of freezes + And varied patterns used during the chorus + 8th note usage was fun and appropriate | A tale of two charts here though ~~~~~Standard 15/20~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 12/17 + Good flow + The verse was much more varied this time - But the jumps didn't fit the song again + The chorus was very enjoyable - There was one 8th note run that involved turning the body in an awkward manner that may have been a bit too difficult for standard + But otherwise the chorus followed a great rhythm + And the freeezes worked well - Stepped into the fadeout again... + Solid chart overall ~~~~~Heavy 19/25~~~~~ Bug-free/Appropriate difficulty 3/3 Fun 16/22 + Good flow - Some freezes towars the start of the song didn't seem to follow anything - You really love those jumps, don't you? =P They still didn't fit with the music during the verse though + You followed a good rhythm during the verse though + And you used fun patterns + Then came the chorus which had great use of freezes - But you followed the vocals to often and it got rather boring - I didn't like the step-jump patterns too much either + But the patterns otherwise were fun - Steps into fadeout again + Solid chart overall with a few flaws ~~~~~Tilt 6/10~~~~~ + Cute video + You definitely have the right idea with the steps - Some flaws are scattered throughout which took away from some of the enjoyment + But it's something I'd play again from time to time, and is a solid file overall ~~~~~TOTAL 72/100~~~~~
