Song Name: fffff Steps 52/60 -Heavy: It's a bit repetitive during the beginning but really, that's what the song does so it's hard to dock points for that. Patterns flow pretty well and it's fully indexable. 24th trills follow what the song's doing. Really nothing wrong here but it doesn't use all of the sounds available. 24/28 -Challenge: It's a bit hard but I suppose that's what Challenge steps are supposed to be. Horribly 4 finger biased, which is sort of annoying for me since I play with 3 but it's doable. Most of the doubles are easily hittable, except for a few patterns involving Left+Up. Aside from that, it uses just about everything the song has. It's not completely technically accurate but it does a very good job of building up at the beginning by introducing the doubles on the quarter beat and then later using the other sound for the double and then finally using both during the ending. The 16th doubles are fairly annoying though. 28/32 Images Graphics 14/15 -Banner 7/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Clean. Has a piano and it's a piano song. 3/3 --Proper Size/format: Yep. 1/1 -Background 7/8 --Includes song title and maybe author (ITG - Required / DDR & Keyboard Optional): Yep, title's up there in the corner. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's a rushed background. It fits but the text looks lame. 2/4 --Proper Size/format: God I hope so. 1/1 Song Song 14/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: OST version. Good song. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: It's from Pop'n Music, which usually doesn't get pulled from. Aside from that, not especially original. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): Good length. Didn't need to be cut. 4/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song: 16th sound pretty much all the way through. 5/5 Tilt Tilt 3/10 -Would you play it again? Yep. 3/3 -Any other side notes/comments/points to areas they feel are more important: I won't give myself these points simply because it's mine. 0/7 Total: 83/100 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: Ichirin no Hana (Huge Hollow Mix) Steps 34/60 -Heavy: Sync is within acceptable discrepancy to be correct. The steps are sort of bland here and there. 8th jumps in and out for most of it. Not really a whole lot else you could've done with it though. The patterns for the 16ths don't flow very well at all for either my index playing or my 3 finger playing. Some cool bpm tricks going to the voices though. The 16ths during that very last slowdown didn't really make sense to me. 19/28 -Challenge: I really don't like hands in my keyboard files. Those sounds are louder but honestly, the whole song's pretty loud and I don't think the different triples/quads fit too well. 16th patterns are still sort of scattered but are in much better rhythms. Some annoying jackhammers. Surprisingly good patterns on the 16th doubles. I liked those. Still, the hands just ruined it. 15/32 Images Graphics 13/15 -Banner 5/7 --Includes author and song title: Yes it does 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It looks like Rangiku on the banner and it looks very clean for the most part. The artist's name is sort of blurry though. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: You're a bit off on size. 256x80 is correct. Your 288x90 is not. 0/1 -Background 8/8 --Includes song title and maybe author (ITG - Required / DDR & Keyboard Optional): Yes, it includes the song title. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: An odd picture of Yoruichi. Apparently the person made her more "furry-ized" or something. She doesn't normally have a tail or ears like that. Still, she's from the show and it looks good. 4/4 --Proper Size/format: Yep. 640x480 PNG file. 1/1 Song Song 12/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 192kbps mp3 and the song sounds pretty good. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: It's a remix from an anime and it's a fast gabba-type song so it's not especially creative at all. 2/4 -Edit (length and cut): 2:18 in length so it feels sort of long. Good cut of it though. 3/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song: It's gabba. Of course it's appropriate for a keyboard file. 5/5 Tilt Tilt 7/10 -Would you play it again? I think I'd play the Challenge steps again. 2/3 -Any other side notes/comments/points to areas they feel are more important: If this is your first try at a keyboard file like your readme makes it sound, I'd say it's a good first try. 5/7 Total: 66/100 --------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: IN GAME 8 Steps 25/60 -Heavy: That was...really boring. The steps are very standard following of the drum but there are completely arbitrary repeated hits on things and places where you follow sounds with freezes but then suddenly don't. I'm confused by that. Not a whole lot of flow either. Could've done more in a bunch of places, even on Heavy and as long as it is, boring is not something you want this to be. It seemed in sync to me though. 13/28 -Challenge: Still pretty boring. You add in a few 8ths during the runs but you keep the weird repeated hits that follow nothing and when the crazy guitar solo comes in, you don't follow it. Taking advantage of things like that is what a Challenge chart should really do. Just...not very good. 12/32 Images Graphics 11/15 -Banner 6/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Supposed to be military style text I take it. Yeah. It works for me. Kind of...boring though. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: Yep. 1/1 -Background 5/8 --Includes song title and maybe author (ITG - Required / DDR & Keyboard Optional): Um. Yeah it does have the song title on it. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's not the right size at all so it gets stretched out. Only the song title ends up looking in focus. The rest is way too blurry. 2/4 --Proper Size/format: It's not even close to the correct size. 0/1 Song Song 12/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: It's 128kbps and it sounds like a pretty cool song. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: I don't think anyone's ever used a song from Mechwarrior. Aside from that, it sounds pretty generic on the crazy rock aspect. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): 2:10's sort of long. Especially with the filler drum parts that repeat. 2/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song: It has drums and guitar. Sure. 5/5 Tilt Tilt 0/10 -Would you play it again? No. 0/3 -Any other side notes/comments/points to areas they feel are more important: Better luck next time. 0/7 Total: 48/100 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: Maxx Delusion Steps 24/60 -Heavy: This just keeps going and going. The rhythms are pretty repetitive and the patterns really aren't very fun. BPM changes didn't fit in a few places. The freeze didn't feel necessary at all. You could've actually done something with the sounds there instead. Good sync. 12/28 -Challenge: I'm not really sure on this one. Some of the 16ths didn't seem to even be following the rhythm that you were trying to set up. You'd switch back and forth between what you wanted to follow and it really wasn't working. You started out with that huge BAM with following the rhythm well and then you just went back to the lame rhythm and totally just lost me at that point. That last stream didn't seem to follow either. You could've actually used the freeze and added steps there and it would've been cool. 12/32 Images Graphics 14/15 -Banner 6/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's dark and evil-looking. Sort of hard to tell who the author is though. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: Yeah. 1/1 -Background 8/8 --Includes song title and maybe author (ITG - Required / DDR & Keyboard Optional): Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Looks cool to me. 4/4 --Proper Size/format: 1/1 Song Song 10/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: Yeah. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: It's a max remix. Not really creative at all. It doesn't sound very creative either. 1/4 -Edit (length and cut): It's kinda long. 2/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song: Yeah, it's a max so it can be used. 5/5 Tilt Tilt 1/10 -Would you play it again? No. 0/3 -Any other side notes/comments/points to areas they feel are more important: Use something that isn't a Max remix next time. Your files will be much better off because of it. 1/7 Total: 49/100 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: over there Steps: 28/60 -Heavy: It's way too easy. If it weren't for the 16th bursts, these would be pad steps. Crossovers are kind of nice. It isn't completely in sync either. It starts off somewhat offbeat for me and then slides onbeat after a few measures. This is also annoying. I'm not really sure what else I could say. 16/28 -Challenge:The beginning felt too empty as there were many many other sounds you could've been using with freezes that wouldn't have made it any harder really but would've given the player a bit more to do. Patterns are seemingly random during the guitar parts. I assume it's supposed to just be a guitar spaz so you made it go all over the place. Doesn't really work for me. A lot of the patterns are just ripped straight from the Heavy steps, which is a really annoying thing for me to see. It's basically just the Heavy steps with some extra 16ths in that one section instead of jumps and without the cross- overs. Seriously though, there is SO MUCH you could have done with this and it just ends up feeling hollow. It could've been much better. 12/32 Images Graphics 15/15 -Banner 7/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: I think it's from the video for the song from Drummania? Works. 3/3 --Proper Size/format: It's one pixel off from correct size. I'm not such a jerk as to take a point off. 1/1 -Background 8/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: From the video. 4/4 --Proper Size: 800x600 does indeed work within the parameters: 1/1 Song Song 15/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 128kbps indeed. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: No one ever uses songs from Drummania. It's a shame too. Great song. 4/4 -Edit (length and cut): Doesn't need to be cut: 4/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song: Lots of stuff to use here. Guitar, drums, synth things. 5/5 Tilt Tilt 1/10 -Would you play it again? Maybe? 1/3 -Any other side notes/comments: Learn to use more of the song on Challenge steps. That's what Challenge steps are for in keyboard files. 0/7 Total: 59/100 ------------------------------------------------------------ Song Name: Storm Steps: 29/60 -Heavy: I'm really not too keen on the doubles that you have going. On the one hand, they fit because they're on the bass hit but on the other hand, you have them at completely random times. The steps go off beat at the quiet part. I'm going to guess that's where you cut the song...or something. Patterns are okay for the most part. There's also something that I really don't like to see in what are supposed to be easier keyboard steps: 16th runs during freezes. Keep that in Challenge. Easier steps should be playable by all styles as best as you can make it. As it ends up, you just sort of have a hodge-podge of different ideas here and they aren't working too well together. I'm not sure the bpm changes work out too well either. The freezes, which also could've caused the steps to go off a little are also a little suspect. 13/28 -Challenge: It's a lot like the Heavy steps except now with many more jumps and jackhammers in odd places. The patterns are now also really random. They're sort of annoying. It's pretty middle of the road aside from that though. 16/32 Images Graphics: 14/15 -Banner 6/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: I guess it looks kind of stormy. The actual Storm text itself looks odd though. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: Yeah. 1/1 -Background 8/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yeah. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: You've got the music video for the song so sure. 4/4 --Proper Size: Yeah. The video gets stretched out though. 1/1 Song Song 13/15 -Bitrate over 128 kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 192kbps. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: I've seen a few sims for this before, though I've never played any of them. Vanessa Mae's been popular in these tournaments. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): Short and sweet. The edit seems to end at an odd place though. 3/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song Choice: Violins work. 5/5 Tilt 7/10 -Would you play it again? Probably not. 0/3 -Any other side notes/comments: You have fairly good sense of what to do but not necessarily when to do it. You obviously have potential though. 7/7 Total: 63/100 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: Tetris Talespin Steps: 22/60 -Heavy: I hate the beginning. It is extremely disjointed. The 16th run is following the music but it could really be going much more all over the place than just some simple machine gun runs. The song in general is just very uneven with all the 16ths and then back into freezes. I really really dislike putting a step EXACTLY after a freeze too. 12/28 -Challenge: The patterns are all over the place. Waaaaaay too many freezes leading into other freezes and ending on hands. Near the end, you have freezes for no reason. There are jackhammers that are just there to make things harder. It's a very large mess. You certainly attempted to use everything in the song though. 10/32 Images Graphics: 10/15 -Banner 4/7 --Includes author and song title: No. Just song title. 1/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's hard to read the title. Looks good otherwise. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: Yeah. 1/1 -Background 6/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yeah. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's random techno garbage. Works I guess. 2/4 --Proper Size: Yeah. 1/1 Song Song 12/15 -Bitrate over 128kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 128kbps yep. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: I haven't heard this one before. Tetris remixes have been really popular overall though. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): 2 minutes is pretty good. I hate that fade out though. Extremely lame. 2/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song Choice: Tetris remixes always work. 5/5 Tilt 1/10 -Would you play it again? No. 0/3 -Any other comments: This was originally supposed to be in the DDR division but I think it could've fit in the ITG division without too many problems...aside from the Challenge steps that would've been too hard. Your work is messy but you can obviously improve. 1/7 Total: 45/100 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: Vairocana Steps: 47/60 -Heavy: While not spectacularly exciting, you didn't really do anything I'd call incorrect. You could've used a few more of the sounds like the ticking near the beginning and perhaps some of the smaller sounds during the quiet part or perhaps a freeze on that "WOOOOOO" sound that appears during that part. Small complaints though. Still, not bad. Good sync on it. The double tapping into jumps doesn't always feel like it fits though. 22/28 -Challenge: I really like the 12th note runs. Still, there's not that much to differentiate this from the Heavy steps aside from the few extra jumps, the 12th runs and that one 16th run. I would've liked to see a bit more distancing from the same patterns. Could've used more doubles on the harder hits during the 8th runs too. It's still pretty fun though. 25/32 Images Graphics: 12/15 -Banner 6/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: It's a japanesey song so what's in the banner works. The text is kind of hard to read though. Especially the JP characters. 2/3 --Proper Size/format: Yeah. 1/1 -Background 6/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yeah. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Japanese snowy mountain temple. I personally would think more of a firey type background but this does work, though the text still looks kind of weird. 2/4 --Proper size: Yeah. 1/1 Song 14/15 -Bitrate over 128kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 192kbps and good. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: It's from Pop'n...but it's also a Naoki song (I think?). It's not especially known anyway. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): Doesn't need to be cut. 4/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song Choice: Frantic synths and whatnot. Works well. 5/5 Tilt: 7/10 -Would you play it again? I'll probably play the Challenge steps every now and then. 2/3 -Any other comments: Keep working at it. You'll get much better the more you make them. Keep picking songs from Pop'n too. It doesn't get enough love. 5/7 Total: 80/100 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Song Name: Video Out C Steps: 50/60 -Heavy: The beginning is waaaaaaay too long. Also, you put steps to extremely quiet noises, which I really wouldn't recommend when you have a very stable and clear sound going right there at the same time. Patterns are kind of wonky but you follow every rhythm perfectly as Heavy steps call for. It's fun but it drags on. 24/28 -Challenge: You largely just tacked on some extra jumps and 16ths into the Heavy steps. The beginning still drags on, but not nearly as long since you introduced the 16th rhythm sooner. I really don't know why you put in that double during a freeze. Also, although you're trying to be perfect with the rhythms, that 48th/64th note thing doesn't register on any keyboard as anything other than a triple. It's kind of pointless (also present in the Heavy steps). Could've done more during the saxophone solo I think. That should've been the big moment to really wow the player but instead you just reused the same simple 12th note run so it just sort of fizzles out. It's still quite fun though. 26/32 Images Graphics: 11/15 -Banner: 5/7 --Includes author and song title: Yep. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Text is clean but the rest of it just looks like a random picture of cables. It's just a cutout from the background though, which is lame. 1/3 --Proper size/format: Yeah yeah yeah. 1/1 -Background 6/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yeah. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Well, it's a picture of video out cables. It makes sense with the song but it really doesn't look that good. 2/4 --Proper Size: Yeah. 1/1 Song 12/15 -Bitrate over 128kbps and doesn't sound horrible: How do you measure bitrate on an OGG anyway? Sounds fine though. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: It's an original song so that gets points, but at the same time, everyone and their mother has done a song like this. 3/4 -Edit (length and cut): It's waaaaaay too long. You made the song yourself so I really don't see why it couldn't have been shorter. 2/4 -Playability/Appropriate Song Choice: Very appropriate. 5/5 Tilt: 10/10 -Would you play it again? Sure thing. 3/3 -Any other comments: Very good job. I'm very impressed by your abilities at making music. 7/7 Total:83/100 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Song Name: Z3 Steps: 26/60 -Heavy: Mines for no reason? The patterns are all over the place and while you try to follow the percussion (because really that's all there is to the song), you miss a few times. The bpm change really didn't need to be there. It's pretty boring because of the music though. The repeated taps at the beginning really didn't fit anything very well either. 12/28 -Challenge: Patterns are EXTREMELY awkward. Adding in all those doubles got pretty boring too. Half the blame for that has to go to the song though as that's really all it is. There's really nothing special here. 14/32 Images Graphics: 8/15 -Banner: 4/7 --Includes author and song title: Yes. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Um. It's random technoish looking thing. It's also directly from the bg. 1/3 --Proper size/format: Right format. Wrong size. You wouldn't have compromised anything by just decreasing the size to the correct amounts. 0/1 -Background: 4/8 --Includes song title and maybe author: Yes. 3/3 --Aesthetic Appeal: Red technoish thing. Looks really bland. 1/4 --Proper size: Correct format, wrong size again. Since it seems that you had the background made, I don't know why it isn't the right size. 0/1 Song: 11/15 -Bitrate over 128kbps and doesn't sound horrible: 192kbps. 2/2 -Creativity in song choice: Percussion song. Sounds a lot like a max ripoff. 1/4 -Edit: Works. 4/4 -Playability: Yeah I guess. Not much aside from the percussion. 4/5 Tilt: 0/10 -Would you play it again? No. 0/3 -Any other comments: I think this actually should've been DQ'd. It doesn't have a .dwi file in it. 0/7 Total: 45/100
